Happiness is ....

For the last 12 years, Zack has always teased me about the movies I grew up on. He claims that they are all black & white regardless if they really are. Some of my favorites are The Ghost & Mr. Chicken, The Great Race, and Private Eyes. What's funny is that he'll tease me about it and then once he finally agrees to watch it, he loves them and even quotes them!

A perfect example of this came very recently. Zack had never seen the movie The Sound of Music...can you believe that? Anyway, it brings such joy to me to hear him laughing at Maria and singing the songs. He even admitted that he has cried at it. You know the scene where Captain von Trapp rediscovers music and in turn, happiness? I'm getting choked up just thinking about it. My heart rejoices in Zack's new discovery. That may sound a bit extreme, but it has always been a beautiful movie and to know that he enjoys it so much means a lot.

Now I just have to convince him to watch Gone With the Wind with me.

I can't wait!!

You can't get any lower than to have your family blog announce that you, the man, cry about a man singing. Even when its true. Neither of you have lived till you watch Big Trouble in Little China.

It is hard to believe that Zack had never seen The Sound Of Music, considering his family's love of music! I do love Captain (Christopher Plumber?) Vontrap's voice! Very nice! And yes, Gone With The Wind is THE BEST! Even though Ashley is a really wimpy girly man... what is she thinking!? She's got WRET BUTLER right in front of her! Is she blind or just completely stupid?! Brent won't go for all those movies though, too bad, he missees out.

I can't believe that Zack hadn't seen Sound of Music! Good luck getting him to sit through all of Gone With the Wind. Heath tried once & couldn't make it. He kept making fun of it too. Remember to visit my blog @ heathjessica.blogspot.com

Suzie, all I have to say is Oh yeah, baby--you got that right. Okay, perhaps this comment is getting a smidge "PG-13".

Oh, and Tiz-if "we" did watch The Sound of Music growing up, I'm thinking the term "we" might be a little misleading. I think some people in our family might have been able to stay awake longer than others (i.e., me). Although I did like several different musicals growing up (as well as now), for some reason I didn't quite get into "The Sound of Music" as much as I did a few others like The Music Man... perhaps because of the massive time commitment required. :) Lately I've been watching The Sound of Music in smaller chunks of time (I think I'm up to the third or fourth intermission now), and I'm old enough now that I can appreciate more of the storyline and humor than I could when I was younger, not to mention the fact that I'm not quite as susceptible now to falling asleep during the opening credits.

Thats awesome! Another Sound of Music fan! Its just such a fun heart touching Classic. Hey if Zack can watch Gone with the Wind, then Maybe I can get Nathan to re-watch it with ME this time.

I have to admit that when I married my sweet Nathan (your brother who grew up watching the SAME movies I'm sure!...) that I wasn't too interested in watching all those flicks at first. But "honeymooners", "The Ghost & Mr. Chicken" & all "Sherlock Holmes" video's have grown on me & I love & Quote most of "Nathan's Movies" frequently.

Oh these are funny. I love The Ghost and Mr. Chicken too! What a funny show! I think it's funny that you guys watch the old movies too! Aaron had never seen the old musicals that I loved, so it was fun to share them together!
