How odd...

My boys (ages nearly 11, nearly 10, 7, and 3 1/2) refuse to watch anything that does not involve action or at least weaponry within the first 5 minutes (or Thomas the Train for Scotty). Our Disney movies are completely dust covered and I doubt that they could even tell you what the movies, The Little Mermaid or Mary Poppins, are even about. Apparently, they are too boring and just for girls. They haven't ever even heard of Pollyanna or Bedknobs & Broomsticks. Yet, here they are, glued to the television watching March of the Wooden Soldiers. It was made back in 1934 and was a musical. Go figure!

Oh, and don't forget cooking club - my house, Thursday night - 8 or 8:30 - I can't remember which.

We are dipping chocolates so dress warmly!

Headline News

Last night we were able to enjoy a couple of videos our nephew made while we were visiting Zack's parents. We had a great time and thought that we should put Zachary's and Mikey's book reports on YouTube for all to enjoy. They are pretty fun to watch - enjoy!

Potty Training Scotty - This Week's Update

Scotty finally is starting to "get it". He at least is staying dry on his own now. Hurray!
We are still struggling with the other half though. I am constantly asking him if he is clean and dry with a reminder to run to the bathroom when he feels the "urge" to make a terrible mess in his pants. Well, he certainly runs to the bathroom. However, he slams the door shut, leans on it, and then goes in his underwear. Aaaahhh! It always makes such a huge mess of everything!

Oh, yeah. I also am working on my hand dipped Valentine's Day chocolates.

Cause of Death......Shopping

It sounds fun. I love the idea of it, even the anticipation of it. But I hate doing it. My goal is to one day actually enjoy it. I get so excited when I see all the stuff in the stores and in the ads. But that's about the end of it for me.

I finally have sometime to myself to go out shopping tonight. The anxiety is building by the minute and I am sick to my stomach.
I will be actually walking into a store to buy clothes - for me. I feel like I am drowning. I have even carefully planned out my excursion to make the most of my time. There are so many cute things to pick from, but I have very little talent in putting them together. If you don't know what I look like, I'm the one that looks just like all of the store mannequins.

I also tend to have the worst luck when I go shopping. There is a super cute girl in my ward, who had on the prettiest shoes. I finally found where she got them from, but of course they were sold out. Stores run out of their cutest stuff way too fast. I would figure that they would order more of the good stuff than waste their space with the lame - o things. So, items being out of stock or over the top pricey. Maybe I am just a cheap-wad, but I struggle with how pricey clothes and shoes can be. These shoes for example, I love them but $230.00 ?!?

My other frustration is that I am apparently too big to fit into anything. Don't get me wrong...I know my five children have added some curves here and there but certainly not where I want them to be. But it's so hard to find anything that fits me nicely. Apparently, what also used to be a size 8 is now a size 12. (Yes, it has been that long since I've really shopped). If anyone even suggests that I just am in denial, I'll fatten your lip.

So, off I go tonight, with a promise to my sweetheart that I'll return happy. I'll let you know how it goes after I invest in some SPANX.
