With his Sweetheart once again...

June 23, 1910 - January 27, 2008

Words simply cannot express how I feel about President Hinckley. I have to admit that I fell apart when we found out about his passing and that I am still struggling. I didn't want him to go. Yes, he was preparing us for this, but since I am mortal I can only be so ready. I am extremely happy for him though, he missed Marjorie so much. I can only imagine the tender, loving, and joyous reunion they are having. I feel so blessed to have been on the earth while he was the prophet. I hope that my children will remember him as I do...a humble, hard working, servant of the Lord, that he loves us so incredibly much, and best of all, he is a hoot!

Until we meet again...

Is it strange/bad that I'm not all that upset or sad? When I heard, I actually did cry tears of joy, for him and the joy he must have felt seeing his dear wife once more and for the level of honor in which he returned to our Father. I tear up now with such a sense of gratitude that while this incredible man was here on the earth with us, I was one of the lucky ones to actually know that he was the Lord's messanger, guiding us to be better then we are in order to have that same honorable return. I feel great sadness for all of our brothers and sisters who do not know or who refuse to know.
He's been the Prophet since I was in 7th grade. It's hard for me to even remember a time where he wasn't the President of the church. I guess the main thing that makes it so "ok" for me, is knowing he was so ready. I know his family probably takes comfort in that.
Try not to be too sad, as you said, "till we meet again", we will all meet again. There is no end and the "work moves on". Moving out of Utah has shown me how much more work needs to be done and even though I miss our family, I am thankful for the experiences we're having down here.
Sorry for the novel! I love and miss all of you!

I wonder if the prophets were there to meet him too. I bet they were. He's the only prophet I cried immediately about when I heard he'd passed away. And Joseph Smith. Not to say all the prophets aren't great because they are. But I think a lot of people were so emotional because they really felt his love for everyone. And yes he was a HOOT & we felt his good humor.
