Stir crazy

Zack has always teasingly called me "The Nomad". About every 5 years I start to get itchy feet. Seeing the same view (a gorgeous one at that) every single day, day in and day out, over and over again, makes me want to experience something, or more accurately, someplace new. Growing up, my family moved about every five years. I loved it (at least until high school). On the other hand, Zack had lived in the same house for over 10 years and has lived in Utah county for over 25 years. Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love Utah and I know from experience that this is home and I love it here and would probably cry myself to sleep at night if I had to leave it and our families.
However, I have to get out of here!!! At least, temporarily.

But....with gas prices so high and our basement trying to flood again (thank you, wonderfully friendly and helpful (note the sarcasm) neighbors up behind us) I fear I will never get out of this house. Maybe that's why I feel the way I do. I feel permanently trapped in here.
I want to :

Tear up at Gettysburg and Valley Forge

Savor San Francisco

Play in the white waters of Colorado

Visit our Nation's Capital

Relax in San Clemente

Discover the Smokey Mountains

And explore Alaska.

I'm right there with you! We just hope to get a trip back to Utah within the next 2 years... We could always do a "house swap" for vacations! No hotel costs at least!

I am just the opposite. I hate to move & love to be in one place forever! (I do like to vacation though!)

Perhaps you guys need a little stint in the AK! :) Yesterday on the news they had all the stats I was sharing with Zack - this summer days over 60 degrees - 35, days over 65 degrees - 7 days over 70 degrees - 2!! Now understand, those stats depress me, but not as much as they do Zack I guess! :) Yesterdays high was 56 I think...Gross!! You guys were probably double us! Not that I want that heat either, but is it too much to ask for a sunburn while I mow the grass?!? :) I'm not getting a sunburn with a sweatshirt on that's for sure. ;)

Geez, Tiz... thanks for continuing to rub those temps in my face. Oh, by the way, just for the record, there is absolutely NOTHING that's gross about 56-degree days. NOTHING AT ALL! Yesterday after I got home from work, I called time and temp at a little after 6:00pm... it said it was 103 degrees... AFTER 6:00PM!! Needless to say, after having experienced an unusually nice, cold, snowy winter (for a change), I've been even more bitter than usual about the hot summer weather this year.
