Scotty

When I was about 7 years old, I discovered Michael Jackson. I remember dancing in my room to his music and dreaming of our future together. One time I even was so emotionally taken with a particular song, I very melodramatically fell to my knees sobbing. How embarrassing, right? To this day, I still really enjoy his music and I am happy to say that my kids do as well.

We have a mix of music that we play in the van for everyone to enjoy. Some of the songs include: Danger Zone, Walk Like an Egyptian, The Hamster Dance, and Gangsta's Paradise. I guess it's not your typical children's music, but there is a little bit of everything on it and they love it all.

Yesterday, Scotty, who loves to sing at the top of his lungs, said that the next song coming on was the "Walking up the stairs song". What on earth could that be? Just then, the song began...Thriller, by Michael Jackson. Yes, indeed, it sounded just like someone walking up the stairs. As I listened to Scotty singing the song, I heard him belting out, "Dinner! Dinner Time!!

To each his own, I guess! I know that for Michael Jackson's song, "Beat It!" I sing the words, "Show me Hot Pockets, No, that's not right!" instead of what ever it's really supposed to be. Not to mention in his song, "Billie Jean" I sing, "Billie Jean's got my glove." instead of "Billie Jean's not my lover."

Rock on, Scotty!

Too funny! I hope you saw American Idol last week where one guy (don't remember his name) sang a really cool version of Billie Jean. I had a huge crush on Michael Jackson as well...posters on my walls and all.

Future American Idol contestant right there! I also loved Michael Jackson, & thought that the Billie Jean lyrics were "Billie Jean is not my mother."

That is SO funny!! :) Troy is a huge fan of Michael's old songs too. He knows most of the words but, of course, he sings them while break dancing and moon walking!! Sometimes I just sit back and wonder how I, a shy, reserved, non-dancing girl, ended up with Troy, a break dancing, karaoke singing, DJ from Alaska!! :) I sure got lucky! :)

You make me laugh!!! I had a major crush on Brian White after going to Country Jam as a young teenager. I remember dreaming of our future together, and I was 13
That's even more embarrasing. I loved him because out of all the Singers their, he was the only one who was drinking water and not beer :)

Ha ha ha! That's hilarious! You should listen to the new version of Billie Jean (I see someone else mentioned it too) by David Cook on iTunes. It was awesome! Also the thriller scene in 13 Going on 30 is the best part of the whole show I think! It totally takes you back!
