Cause of Death......Shopping

It sounds fun. I love the idea of it, even the anticipation of it. But I hate doing it. My goal is to one day actually enjoy it. I get so excited when I see all the stuff in the stores and in the ads. But that's about the end of it for me.

I finally have sometime to myself to go out shopping tonight. The anxiety is building by the minute and I am sick to my stomach.
I will be actually walking into a store to buy clothes - for me. I feel like I am drowning. I have even carefully planned out my excursion to make the most of my time. There are so many cute things to pick from, but I have very little talent in putting them together. If you don't know what I look like, I'm the one that looks just like all of the store mannequins.

I also tend to have the worst luck when I go shopping. There is a super cute girl in my ward, who had on the prettiest shoes. I finally found where she got them from, but of course they were sold out. Stores run out of their cutest stuff way too fast. I would figure that they would order more of the good stuff than waste their space with the lame - o things. So, items being out of stock or over the top pricey. Maybe I am just a cheap-wad, but I struggle with how pricey clothes and shoes can be. These shoes for example, I love them but $230.00 ?!?

My other frustration is that I am apparently too big to fit into anything. Don't get me wrong...I know my five children have added some curves here and there but certainly not where I want them to be. But it's so hard to find anything that fits me nicely. Apparently, what also used to be a size 8 is now a size 12. (Yes, it has been that long since I've really shopped). If anyone even suggests that I just am in denial, I'll fatten your lip.

So, off I go tonight, with a promise to my sweetheart that I'll return happy. I'll let you know how it goes after I invest in some SPANX.

sounds like you need shopping buddies to make it fun. nothing like some girlfriends to cheer you on spending money.
call me anytime. I'm good at it.

It must run in the family because I HATE shopping too!! I don't know what goes with what either, and personally I think spending time caring is a huge waste.
Nothing EVER fits right! Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm over wieght, but come on, I don't think I'm this huge freak. I have to shop in Plus sizes... I don't feel like I SHOULD be a plus, but I can't squeeze anything into the regular sizes. But my issue, is that the plus sizes are all way too big! Or fit all funky in differnt places... like most plus size jeans, either WAY too long (because if your waist is bigger then 34 inches you must just be the statue of liberty) Or they fit JUST RIGHT until you try and button them... what fat woman has a huge rear end but a tiny little slim waist?! OR the shirt will fit great, except the sleeves which feel like blood pressure cuffs. Another main issue I have is that apparently all plus size ladies have giant boobs. I'll find a shirt that fits nicely in the hips and arms but the neck will practically go down to my belly button.
I hope to one day get to a weight in which shopping may be more enjoyable... in the mean time, hats off to you for taking a NIGHT to shop for you!!
(sorry for the rant, just a touchy subject!!)

I bought knock-offs of those shoes on e-bay for twelve bucks. In four colors, too. Hateing shopping, really? I always knew I was the black sheep of the family.

I wish I had the problem of Hating to shop. I would count that as a huge blessing Amber!!! Think of all the money your saving. I can't quit shopping :)

You make me laugh, how'd the shopping go? You should post pictures of yourself modeling your new clothes :) But please spare us the Spanks. We'll take your word on that one.
