Owww...my number 5 !
The other day, Scotty (just turned three) hurt himself. When I asked him where his "owie" was, he said, "On my number five." Not having the foggiest idea what he meant, I asked him to show me. He pointed to his big toe. I kissed #5 better and then laughing to myself, I asked where his number 3 was. He immediately pointed to the middle toe. Apparently, he counts in the same direction on his other foot, as well. I think it is so interesting that he thinks this way. He's so yummy, I just want to eat him up !!!!

While the cat is away, the mice will play...
Demolition began in our kitchen today. After all of the "fun" of our basement flooding, I decided to take care of the job while Zack was in San Francisco for work. I figured that this way, Zack would miss the stress of it all. Thank heavens my dad and a few friends from the ward were available to help me out with the job. Finally, my kitchen is getting larger!!!

Noah and the Ark?
Some of you have asked about the flooding of our basement, so here is the scoop:
On Friday the 14th, at about 4:30 pm, Zachary came up from his room and asked why his carpet was so wet. I ran down to his room (in the basement) and discovered that water was everywhere. Zack got home about 10 minutes later from work. Our wonderful home teacher and some friends came rushing to our rescue and within about 15 minutes all of the furniture, toys, carpeting, and padding from the basement was out in the garage or on the driveway. It turns out that water was coming up from underneath the house through every teeny-tiny hairline crack in our flooring. We just couldn't keep up with how fast it was coming in. We now know that it was from a broken pressurized irrigation pipe up behind our home. So at least we don't have to pay for the repairs. Also, because it was a weekend and it had our names on it, no one was able to come until MONDAY morning. Awesome. Just thought you might like to share in our joy, so here are some pics.
Hey ~ at least it wasn't sewer water.Posted by Amber at 1:45 PM 0 comments

I hope that I will be able figure this all out. I am looking forward to starting a blog for our family. What a neat way to enjoy our family history!
